Bresnahan Talks Housing in Tannersville

Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026Pocono Township

Rep. Rob Bresnahan (R) held a roundtable on housing priorities in Tannersville last Wednesday (Oct. 7) with local realtors and community leaders, according to a news release from his office. Participants included the Pocono Mountain Association of Realtors, the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau, Northampton Community College’s Monroe Campus, PS Bank, Empire Development Group and Pocono United Way. The release lists expanding supply, easing zoning and permitting, reusing existing buildings and public land, home repairs and rental assistance as topics. It also points to the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, which became law this year and bars institutional investors that own 350 or more single-family homes from buying additional newly built single-family homes. We covered the bill earlier this year.

The release does not say what, if anything, the group concluded, or whether the investor cap reaches the Poconos market at all. Election Day is three weeks from today (Nov. 3), and Bresnahan is on the ballot against Democrat Paige Cognetti, so read the roundtable as the campaign-season event it is. Housing roundtables are popular in October, whichever party is hosting.
